From Pride to Praise: The Story of a Humbled King

From Pride to Praise: The Story of a Humbled King A Study of Daniel Chapter 4 Read Daniel 4 (CEB) on BibleGateway After reading the full account of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, his downfall, and his restoration, I found myself reflecting on what this chapter reveals about the character of Father God and the way He works in the lives of both kings and ordinary people. My Takeaway on Daniel Chapter 4 This chapter is a revelation of Father God’s character and power . It reminds us that no matter how high a person rises, every kingdom and every breath ultimately belong to Him. It also points toward a future moment when all creation will stand in awe of Father God, recognizing His justice, His mercy, and His absolute sovereignty. Nebuchadnezzar was a powerful king, yet his power could not shield him from the consequences of pride. Father God removed his kingship and allowed him to live among the animals. But even this judgment was not...

The Lord’s Protection Through the Storms

The Lord’s Protection Through the Storms Reflections on Hurricane Harvey, compassion in crisis, and trusting God’s plan. In my previous post, Jesus , I shared how I’ve learned to trust the Lord in all things and how I received salvation when I accepted Yeshua—Jesus—into my life. I’ve mentioned before that I live in the Houston, Texas area, and if you’ve followed the news, you’ve seen the destructive flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. Once again, the Lord protected us. We did not get water in our home, though many in our neighborhood did. I don’t know why we were spared. We’ve lived here nearly 30 years and have never flooded, and even during Hurricane Ike we received only very minor damage. Added 10/19/17 — More of the Lord’s Protection We are fortunate to have two properties. Our second home is a little over an hour away, closer to the coast, and that area was also hit ha...

Jesus

Jesus: Trusting Him in All Things Yeshua Jesus is the Son of the living God. Another name given Him is the Word of God. It is from Him we get knowledge and understanding of God. At the right time, a little over 2000 years ago, Yeshua Jesus came to earth in the form of a human, a baby born of a human mother but not of a human father. This was God's plan to save us, we humans. Jesus lived a life without sin so that He could take our place. He became that unblemished lamb that was sacrificed for our sins. All us humans have sinned, disobeyed God's laws. The Bible says that we are slaves to sin. Jesus fulfilled all prophesies proving Him to be the messiah, giving us a way to break free from the bondage of sin. He was beaten, spit on, scourged, cursed, mocked, and nailed to a cross to die. But He did not stay in the grave, that tomb. On the third day He arose from the dead. He appeared to many people for a period of 40 days until He went i...

To all the world leaders.

Image
In every generation, those who hold power shape the lives of millions. Yet the true measure of leadership is not found in wealth or influence, but in compassion, humility, and the willingness to see others as God sees them. • • • Where Is Your Heart? To all the world leaders — those who rule over nations and guide the destiny of people — I ask you this: Where is your heart? What occupies your thoughts? Is your mind set on the well‑being of the people you govern, or on gaining more wealth and power? Imagine for a moment that you had not been born into privilege or influence. What if you had been born into poverty, and someone else held the power you now possess — using it in the same way you are using yours? How would you feel? • • • The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus Yeshua (Jesus) once told a parable about a rich man and a poor beggar who longed for nothing more than a few scraps from the rich man’s table. Luke 16:19–...

Blessed are the Peacemakers.

Lent - A Time For Penance and Reflection

Image
Lent and The Sign of Jonah As we enter the season of Lent, we are invited into a time of reflection, repentance, and returning to God. Lent is not simply a ritual or tradition — it is a spiritual journey where we examine our hearts and listen closely to the Lord’s call. One of the clearest messages Jesus gave about repentance is found in His teaching about the Sign of Jonah . Luke 11:29 (NASB) As the crowds were increasing, He (Yeshua Jesus) began to say, “This generation is a wicked generation; it seeks for a sign, and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah.” The Greek word translated “generation” is genea — which can also mean “age.” Jesus could be saying: “This age is a wicked age…” The Greek word for “sign” also means a supernatural miracle, a token, or a wonder — something that produces awe and admiration. In the Old Testament story of Jonah, God sent Jonah to the wicked city of Nineveh. When Jonah final...

Which path will mankind go?

Image
Sometimes the Lord places a picture in our hearts long before we understand it. Over time, those images grow clearer, inviting us to reflect, to listen, and to choose the path that leads toward Him. What follows is a meditation I wrote years ago—now gently polished, but still carrying the same conviction the Spirit stirred in me then. I have had two pictures of our future in my mind for some time now, and those pictures are becoming clearer to me. Two separate paths will lead us to two separate results. One path will lead to destruction, and the other will lead to peace and serenity. I believe God is giving us—both collectively and individually—the decision of choosing which path we will take. The Bible talks about a new heaven and a new earth. I see that this could happen in two different ways. If all of humanity chose to receive the Living Water and become One with God in Christ Jesus, then Satan would be defeated. He would have no more control or influenc...
