Keep The Faith

Temptation is something every believer faces, and Jesus taught us to pray about it directly. This morning I found myself thinking more deeply about the line, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” and what it truly means for our daily walk with God. I was thinking about something this morning that connects with my last post, Test the Spirits . Satan tempts us to sin and do evil. I was thinking about the Lord’s Prayer, where it says, “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil,” and I wanted a deeper understanding of that phrase. I looked it up, and the explanation I found expressed it well, so I’m sharing it here. “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” ( Matthew 6:13 ) This line from the Lord’s Prayer is deeply meaningful, and Christians have reflected on it for centuries. “Lead us not into temptation” At first, it can sound confusing—why would God lead anyone into temptation? But in the original Greek, the word peirasmo...

Prophecy and Power Something that has always troubled me is the prophecy circulating among Christians today that claims Donald Trump was chosen by God to be president. This morning I found myself thinking back to the period when Adolf Hitler rose to power — and wondered whether there had been a prophecy about him. To my shock, I discovered that there was. Bonhoeffer and False Prophecy From an article in Christianity Today titled “Dietrich Bonhoeffer — German Theologian and Resister” : “The time is fulfilled for the German people of Hitler. It is because of Hitler that Christ, God the helper and redeemer, has become effective among us. … Hitler is the way of the Spirit and the will of God for the German people to enter the Church of Christ.” — Pastor Hermann Gruner Another pastor put it more succinctly: “Christ has come to us through Adolf Hitler.” Just to be clear, Dietrich Bonhoeffer did not say this. He was deeply concerned abou...

Cleaned Version Do you like it when someone tries to deceive you, manipulate you, or use you? I don’t like that one bit, and I doubt any of you do either. Yet there is someone who is doing exactly that to all of us, all the time. Satan is constantly working to deceive humanity, and most of the time we don’t even recognize it. Jesus warned us that deception would become extremely severe in the end times: Matthew 24:24 (CEB) “False christs and false prophets will appear, and they will offer great signs and wonders in order to deceive, if possible, even those whom God has chosen.” I’ve already mentioned some of the ways I’ve personally experienced Satan’s interference—my internet suddenly going down, all my email accounts being disabled, my cursor jumping around or disappearing, writings vanishing right before I could send or post them, and many other things. Through all of this, I’ve learned that I can always rely on God to fix the problem. Sometimes the Lord gives me an idea to work ...

Have you ever thought that there may be times in your life that you might be doing the will of Satan? Most of us rarely if ever think of that possibility, in fact we probably don't think much about Satan at all. As I've already said, he is real and he is a powerful being.  Why am I talking about Satan, you might ask? Look at what is going on in the world today, such evil things. I believe this is his doing. He is getting desperate and doing all he can to keep us from believing in the One True Living God and in the One He sent, Jeshua Jesus. Do you fear what is going on? Do you think there is no hope, that there is no god? Think about it; it is what he wants. Here are the titles given in the Bible to him: Abaddon ----- Rev 9:11 accuser ------ Ps. 109:6 ; Rev 12:10 Revelation 12:10 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 10  Then I heard  a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the  salvation, and the power, and the  kingdom of our God and the authority...
