Israel’s Return to the Land — What Does G-d Expect?

Image
How Should Israel Treat Those in the Land Today? A Biblical Look at Return, Neighbors, and Covenant Ethics When Scripture speaks about Israel returning to the Promised Land, it never frames the issue in political terms. It frames it in covenant terms — G-d’s character, G-d’s promises, and G-d’s expectations for how His people treat others. To understand how Israel is to treat those who live in the land now, we must look at the three biblical eras of return , because each one gives a different kind of instruction. 1. The First Entry Under Joshua — A Unique Moment in History The conquest under Joshua was a one‑time, unrepeatable event . G-d used Israel as an instrument of judgment on nations whose practices included child sacrifice, ritual prostitution, and violence. This was not: a model for future generations a permanent policy or a pattern for how Israel should treat neighbors After Joshua, G-d never again commanded Israel to conquer the land by force. This means modern returns...

Eternal Life / Life Eternal

Exploring the meaning of “eternal life” as Jesus described it — a life of knowing God. I’ve been thinking about something this morning. In John chapter 17, Jesus gives us one of the clearest definitions of eternal life found anywhere in Scripture. John 17:3 (NIV) “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” For a long time, the English phrase “eternal life” has felt a little vague to me — almost like a distant, abstract idea. But when Yeshua (Jesus) describes it, He doesn’t talk about endless time at all. He talks about knowing God . That made me wonder: What do the original Greek words actually say? And why do we translate them as “eternal life” or “life eternal”? I was going to open my Ultimate Bible Study Suite on my Kindle, but I came across something even more helpful: a detailed Greek breakdown from Abarim Publications. Looking at the Greek Text In John 17:3, the phrase tran...

From Pride to Praise: The Story of a Humbled King

From Pride to Praise: The Story of a Humbled King A Study of Daniel Chapter 4 Read Daniel 4 (CEB) on BibleGateway After reading the full account of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, his downfall, and his restoration, I found myself reflecting on what this chapter reveals about the character of Father God and the way He works in the lives of both kings and ordinary people. My Takeaway on Daniel Chapter 4 This chapter is a revelation of Father God’s character and power . It reminds us that no matter how high a person rises, every kingdom and every breath ultimately belong to Him. It also points toward a future moment when all creation will stand in awe of Father God, recognizing His justice, His mercy, and His absolute sovereignty. Nebuchadnezzar was a powerful king, yet his power could not shield him from the consequences of pride. Father God removed his kingship and allowed him to live among the animals. But even this judgment was not...

Slave, Servant, Bond-Servant, and Sin: Who Is My Master?

Image
Slave, Servant, Bond-Servant, and Sin: Who Is My Master? My recent studies have led me into a deep question: Is sin something I choose, or something that controls me? Am I a slave to sin? A slave to Satan? Or does Satan simply take advantage of my slavery to sin? The Bible is clear that all people, by nature, are slaves to sin; we have lost our self-control. As Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.” ( John 8:34 ) If that is true, then another question follows: does being a slave to sin mean I am also a slave to Satan? Satan is called “the ruler of the world” ( John 12:31 ) and “the god of this age” ( 2 Corinthians 4:4 ). We all begin life as part of this world, so if Christ is not my master, could it be that Satan is? Slave vs. Servant: What’s the Difference? In English, “slave” sounds harsh and “servant” sounds gentler. But in the New Testament, the Greek word behind both is usually the same: dou...

The Unseen Kingdom Jesus Reveals · A Personal Scripture Study

Image
The Unseen Kingdom Jesus Reveals · A Personal Scripture Study Yeshua Jesus’ conversations with others were continually centered on the kingdom of God — the unseen realm. God, angels, Satan, and demons all belong to that unseen realm. Jesus Himself belongs to both the unseen and the seen. When He walked the earth in a human body, He taught those who could see Him with their physical eyes. Today, He teaches each of us through His Spirit, if we have invited Him in. Though we cannot see Him now, His Spirit is everywhere. He knows our thoughts. He judges perfectly because He knows all things, unlike earthly judges. And He desires to help us, if we want His help, by teaching us about the kingdom of God. After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to people for forty days. He was no longer in an earthly body. I believe His new body was meant to demonstrate the kind of body we will one day receive. The kingdom of God is not visible to us right now, so we receive...
