Where Knowing God Truly Begins

Image
There are moments in our walk with God when questions rise to the surface—questions about how we come to know Him, how He draws us, and how His love reaches us long before we understand it. These reflections often come through Scripture, but also through conversations, books, and the quiet leading of the Spirit. This post gathers those threads into one simple, clear picture of where knowing God truly begins. 1. The Father’s Eternal Love: Where Knowing God Begins (A simple foundation: God’s love comes first.) Before creation, before time, before humanity existed, Scripture shows us something astonishing: the Father loved the Son. Yeshua says: “You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” — John 17:24 This is the starting point of everything. Knowing God begins with the Father’s love, not human discovery. It begins in heaven, not on earth. In the same chapter, Yeshua speaks of those whom the Father “gave” to Him: “Yours they were, and You...

When Everything Hidden Comes Into the Light

When Everything Hidden Comes Into the Light Intro: Some stories take years before we’re ready to tell them. This is one of mine. I first wrote parts of it back in 2013 but never finished. Shame held me back. Confusion held me back. Maybe even fear. But today — June 6, 2026 — the Lord brought this unfinished post back to my mind, and I knew it was time to let the light in. I don’t share this because I enjoy exposing my past. I share it because if we do not abide in Christ, we can fall away from grace . John 15:6 (NASB) “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.” The First Time I Gave My Life to Christ When I was about seventeen, my cousin invited me to a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting. Afterward she shared the gospel with me...

Why wait until the day Father God lifts the veil

Why wait until the day Father God lifts the veil and reveals our true selves — the way He sees us and the way others have seen us? Why carry baggage into that moment that we could lay down now? You and I still have time to work on these things while we are here. Ask Father God to soften your heart. Ask Him to reveal the wrongs you’ve done to others, and the wrongs others have done to you. Ask Him for the strength to go — while they are still alive — and seek forgiveness. And ask Him for the grace to forgive those who have wounded you. For those we have wronged who have already passed on, we will have to wait to see whether they forgave us. If not, we will bear that grief and shame ourselves. Better to settle matters now, while mercy is still within reach. Luke 12:57–59 Yeshua (Jesus) spoke directly to this, urging us to settle our accounts before we stand before the Judge. He warns that if we ref...
