God Will Be All In All.

Unity Series Header

I believe that all peoples — even from the beginning of time — will be in God's new kingdom. And here is why.

🏙️ The New Jerusalem

John’s description of the new kingdom, given to him by God through an angel (Rev 1:1), is found in Revelation 21.

He describes the holy city, the New Jerusalem — a massive city with a wall measuring 1,500 miles wide, 1,500 miles long, 1,500 miles tall, and 72 yards thick (Rev 21:16–17). The city has twelve gates — three on each side (Rev 21:12–13).

🚪 Inside and Outside the City

Inside the city:

  • The Lord God and the Lamb (Jesus/Yeshua) (Rev 21:22)
  • Those written in the Lamb’s book of life (Rev 21:27)
  • The bride, the wife of the Lamb (Rev 21:9)
  • God’s bond-servants (Rev 22:3)

Outside the city:

  • “Dogs, sorcerers, immoral persons, murderers, idolaters, and all who love and practice lying” (Rev 22:15)
  • The nations (Rev 21:24)

I believe these descriptions refer to who they were on the old earth — not who they are in the new creation.

🌿 The Gates Are Never Closed

The nations and kings of the earth enter the city through its gates (Rev 21:24–26), yet:

“Nothing unclean… shall ever come in, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” — Revelation 21:27

This suggests that some whose names are written in the book of life are living outside the city.

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” — Revelation 22:14

✨ The City Itself

There is no temple because the Lord God and the Lamb are its temple (Rev 21:22). There is no darkness because God’s glory illumines it (Rev 21:23). The gates are never closed (Rev 21:25).

A river of life flows from the throne (Rev 22:1). The tree of life grows on both sides, and its leaves are for the healing of the nations (Rev 22:2).

There is no more curse (Rev 22:3), no night, and God illumines them (Rev 22:5).

📖 New Heaven and New Earth

Revelation 21:1–8 describes the new creation:

  • A new heaven and new earth
  • God dwelling with humankind
  • No more death, mourning, crying, or pain
  • All things made new

Then verse 8 lists the same types of people mentioned outside the city — and says their portion is in the lake of fire (Rev 21:8).

🔥 Divine Cleansing, Not Eternal Torment

In Greek culture, fire and sulfur (brimstone) symbolized divine purification, not endless torment.

This matches the refining imagery throughout Scripture:

“He is like a refiner’s fire.” — Malachi 3:2
“I will… purely purge away thy dross.” — Isaiah 1:25
“Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.” — Psalm 66:10

🕊️ God Will Be All in All

Scripture points toward a final restoration in which all things are brought into unity under Christ:

“That God may be all in all.” — 1 Corinthians 15:28
“The fullness of him that filleth all in all.” — Ephesians 1:22–23

In the end, God’s creation — every person, every nation, every being — will be restored, healed, and brought into His life. We will be as we were meant to be: God our God, and we His people.
