The Three in ONE — Perfect LOVE

The Three in ONE — Perfect LOVE

Header Image

This morning my thoughts kept returning to Father God, Yeshua, and the Holy Spirit. There is something beautiful about pausing long enough to consider who They are — not just in doctrine, but in presence, in character, and in the way They reveal Themselves to us. Today felt like one of those moments where Their nearness was especially clear.

Scripture

Genesis 1:26 — “Let Us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness…”

John 14:9 — “Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.”

John 16:13 — “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.”

Reflection

All morning long I have been thinking about Father God, Yeshua (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Scripture tells us that They are One — the Creator of all things, working in perfect unity. I try to visualize each One in my mind, but it isn’t easy. The hardest for me to picture is the Spirit.

One of the clearest portrayals I’ve ever encountered was in William P. Young’s The Shack. In the story, Father God (“Papa”) appears to Mack as a Black woman — not because God is a woman, but because Mack’s wounded heart needed to encounter the Father’s love in a way he could receive. Jesus appears as Himself, steady and familiar. And the Holy Spirit, Sarayu, is portrayed as shimmering, present, but not fully graspable — seen and not seen at the same time. That image has stayed with me. It captures something true about the Spirit’s nature: real, active, near… yet beyond our ability to fully define.

Thinking about Them again this morning brought me back to who They are — their character, their unity, their love. They created all things. They uphold all things. And even when we disobey the laws Father God has given us, He does not crush us or make our lives miserable until we “get it right.” He does the opposite.

Because He loves us so deeply, Yeshua came to take our punishment upon Himself. I’ve said this many times, but every time I think about it, it overwhelms me. Father God could have simply forgiven us without the cross — but He chose a path that revealed the depth of His love, the unity of His plan, and the willingness of Yeshua to bear our burden.

The Father’s plan.
The Son’s obedience.
The Spirit’s presence.
All working together in perfect LOVE.

Wow, wow, wow. Amazing.

Connection to Today

When I think about the Trinity — Father, Son, and Spirit — I’m reminded that the same God who created galaxies is the God who walks with me today. The same unity They share is the unity They invite us into. The same love that moved Yeshua to the cross is the love that meets me in my ordinary morning thoughts.

And the Spirit — shimmering, gentle, present — is still here, guiding, comforting, shaping, and reminding me that I belong to Them.

Closing Prayer

Father God, thank You for revealing Yourself to us in ways we can understand. Thank You for Yeshua, who showed us Your heart, and for the Holy Spirit, who walks with us every moment. Help us see You more clearly, love You more deeply, and live in the unity You designed for us. Draw us into Your presence today. Amen.
