Lent - A Time For Penance and Reflection

Image
Lent and The Sign of Jonah As we enter the season of Lent, we are invited into a time of reflection, repentance, and returning to God. Lent is not simply a ritual or tradition — it is a spiritual journey where we examine our hearts and listen closely to the Lord’s call. One of the clearest messages Jesus gave about repentance is found in His teaching about the Sign of Jonah . Luke 11:29 (NASB) As the crowds were increasing, He (Yeshua Jesus) began to say, “This generation is a wicked generation; it seeks for a sign, and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah.” The Greek word translated “generation” is genea — which can also mean “age.” Jesus could be saying: “This age is a wicked age…” The Greek word for “sign” also means a supernatural miracle, a token, or a wonder — something that produces awe and admiration. In the Old Testament story of Jonah, God sent Jonah to the wicked city of Nineveh. When Jonah final...

Which path will mankind go?

Image
Sometimes the Lord places a picture in our hearts long before we understand it. Over time, those images grow clearer, inviting us to reflect, to listen, and to choose the path that leads toward Him. What follows is a meditation I wrote years ago—now gently polished, but still carrying the same conviction the Spirit stirred in me then. I have had two pictures of our future in my mind for some time now, and those pictures are becoming clearer to me. Two separate paths will lead us to two separate results. One path will lead to destruction, and the other will lead to peace and serenity. I believe God is giving us—both collectively and individually—the decision of choosing which path we will take. The Bible talks about a new heaven and a new earth. I see that this could happen in two different ways. If all of humanity chose to receive the Living Water and become One with God in Christ Jesus, then Satan would be defeated. He would have no more control or influenc...

Yeshua, King Jesus

EVIL SPIRIT.............................. IN THE NAME OF YESHUA, KING JESUS, COME OUT OF MY FRIEND AND GO...................... LEAVE.............................. Friend, Jesus offers us Living Water. This water cleans out the bad in us and brings in the good. All we have to do is ask Jesus for it. You can't see Jesus but He is everywhere in Spirit. He knows each one of us better then we know ourselves. He knows the condition of our hearts and He knows what we think. Jesus said that unless you eat of His body and drink of His blood you cannot enter God's kingdom, His kingdom. There is an old saying, “You are what you eat.” This was just one of the ways Jesus helps us to understand the act of taking Him in and His blood is that Life Giving Water that flows, courses through us. You can't get to know the ruler of a kingdom until you become a member, a subject of it. John 6:54 King James Version (KJV) 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my bl...

Slave, Servant, Bond-Servant, and Sin: Who Is My Master?

Image
Slave, Servant, Bond-Servant, and Sin: Who Is My Master? My recent studies have led me into a deep question: Is sin something I choose, or something that controls me? Am I a slave to sin? A slave to Satan? Or does Satan simply take advantage of my slavery to sin? The Bible is clear that all people, by nature, are slaves to sin; we have lost our self-control. As Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.” ( John 8:34 ) If that is true, then another question follows: does being a slave to sin mean I am also a slave to Satan? Satan is called “the ruler of the world” ( John 12:31 ) and “the god of this age” ( 2 Corinthians 4:4 ). We all begin life as part of this world, so if Christ is not my master, could it be that Satan is? Slave vs. Servant: What’s the Difference? In English, “slave” sounds harsh and “servant” sounds gentler. But in the New Testament, the Greek word behind both is usually the same: dou...

When Power, Poverty, and God’s Light Meet

Image
When Power, Poverty, and God’s Light Meet There is something we rarely stop to consider: In every war, every conflict, every struggle — who gains the most, and who pays the highest price? Those at the top gain power, wealth, and influence. Those at the bottom do the fighting, the bleeding, and the dying. This pattern is as old as history itself. Long ago, nations sent slaves into battle first. They were given the weakest weapons and the most dangerous tasks. Only after the slaves were “used up” did the trained soldiers enter the fight. Those in power rarely risked themselves. And in many ways, the pattern hasn’t changed. Seeing the Pattern in History You can look at almost any war. Take the American Civil War. The wealthy plantation owners — the ones who benefited most from slavery — rarely fought. It was the poor farmers, many of whom owned no slaves at all, who died defending a...

Do you like to be used?

Image
Do you like it when someone tries to deceive you, manipulate you, or use you? I don’t like that one bit, and I doubt any of you do either. Yet there is someone who is doing just that to all of us, all the time. Satan is constantly working to deceive humanity, and most of the time we don’t even recognize it. Jesus warned us about how bad deception would get in the end times: Matthew 24:24 (CEB) “False christs and false prophets will appear, and they will offer great signs and wonders in order to deceive, if possible, even those whom God has chosen.” I’ve already mentioned how I have experienced Satan’s power in things like my internet suddenly going down, all my email accounts disabled, my cursor jumping around to various places or disappearing altogether, some writings disappearing right before sending or posting them, and many other things. Through all of this, I have learned that I can always rely on God to fix the problem. The Lord sometimes will give ...

Fractal

Image
Sometimes what looks like chaos up close reveals perfect order from above. In creation, in people, and in faith, God’s design repeats in patterns of beauty and purpose — fractals of His glory woven through everything He made. Fractal Have you ever heard the word fractal before? According to the Merriam‑Webster Dictionary, a fractal is: “Any of various extremely irregular curves or shapes for which any suitably chosen part is similar in shape to a given larger or smaller part when magnified or reduced to the same size.” In simple terms, a fractal is a pattern that repeats itself at every scale — small parts reflecting the whole. When you look at God’s creation, fractals are everywhere: trees, flowers, clouds, rivers, coastlines, mountains, seashells, snowflakes, hurricanes. Creation is full of repeating patterns — beauty emerging from what looks like chaos. Fractals are often described as “images of dynamic systems,” or “pictures of chaos.” But when you step back, ...
