When strings align, kingdoms shift.
Harmony Is Not a Human Invention
Before there was a first chord struck on earth, there was harmony in the nature of God Himself. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — distinct in Person, unified in essence — exist in eternal, perfect resonance. There is no discord in the Godhead, no competing agenda, no friction of wills. What we call the Trinity is, in its deepest sense, the original harmony: three distinct “notes,” one magnificent chord.
When God declared creation “very good,” He was not simply reviewing a checklist. He was hearing a song play back in tune. Everything He made resonated with His character. Shalom — that Hebrew word we translate as “peace” — carries the full weight of it: completeness, wholeness, every part in right relationship with every other part.
Sin fractured that resonance. But the story of Scripture is the story of God restoring it.
The Physics of Belonging
Modern science has given us language for something the ancient world understood intuitively. Resonance — the phenomenon by which one vibrating object causes a nearby object tuned to the same frequency to vibrate in sympathy — is not limited to tuning forks and guitar strings.
Entrainment goes further still. When two oscillating systems come into proximity, the weaker one gradually synchronizes to the stronger. Pendulum clocks on the same wall, fireflies flashing in a field, the heartbeat of a sleeping child nestled against a parent’s chest — all of them entrain.
The HeartMath Institute has documented that the electromagnetic field generated by the human heart extends several feet beyond the body and can influence the nervous systems of those nearby. Your heart broadcasts. The coherence or incoherence of your inner world radiates outward.
We were built to affect one another at frequencies below the level of words.
A Harp in a Troubled Palace
Saul, Israel’s first king, had become tormented and undone. His servants sought a solution and recommended finding someone who plays the harp — an ancient description of entrainment.
David came and played. Scripture records:
“Saul would be relieved and feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.” — 1 Samuel 16:23
David’s music worked because David’s heart was coherent — tuned to the frequency of the Kingdom. He broadcast peace, order, and surrender.
What You Carry Into the Room
If the heart broadcasts — and it does — then the condition of our inner life is never private. Anger, unforgiveness, anxiety: all of it enters every room with us.
The inverse is true. A heart in coherence carries a signal that disrupts dissonance. It simply plays.
Paul’s instruction to “let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts” (Colossians 3:15) is about governance — the peace of Christ as the ruling frequency.
You become the David in the room.
One, the Way Music Is One
The Kingdom is not a crowd of individuals who agree. It is musical — harmony, not uniformity.
“that they may be one, even as we are one” — John 17:22
A symphony does not silence its instruments. It tunes them. Each voice preserved, each necessary, all surrendered to the Conductor.
Coming Into Tune
Harmony is achieved by listening — to God and to one another.
Entrainment requires proximity. When we draw near to the One who is harmony, we become harmonic. When we bring that into relationship with others doing the same, the room changes.
David did not know he was changing a king. He was just playing his song.

Connection to Today
Most of us live as though we are alone in a world full of noise. We do what we think we must to survive. It is difficult to imagine another way — the Kingdom way.

Father God, may the eyes and ears of our hearts become in tune with Your heart.
