Encouragement for Those Who Are Doing the Work of Father God
I want to offer encouragement to those of you who are faithfully doing the work of Father God. I have been working on this blog for five years now. This blog belongs to the Lord. And during this time, I have experienced Satan’s power again and again.
From what I have seen, humans could very well call him a “god” — he is that powerful. He knows what I am thinking, and he reacts when he does not like what I am doing. Here is the most recent example of what I believe was his work.
June 2016 — The Ant Bites, the Wasp Sting, and the Infection
On Wednesday morning, 6/29/16, I posted “To all the bond-servants of the Lord.” The day before, 6/28/16, I was working in the yard and picked up some corn stalks I had laid down earlier. My right hand was attacked by fire ants — I probably got half a dozen bites. They formed the usual red welts with white centers.
On Thursday, my wife and I went to our river property. Friday evening, as I was preparing the boat, I reached into some standing water to remove a drain plug. It was my right, ant‑bitten hand that went into that water. Just before launching the boat, a red wasp stung me on the right wrist.
By Saturday morning, my hand was swollen like a balloon. As we drove back to Houston, the swelling spread up my arm. We went straight to the ER. They struggled to draw blood — four people and at least twelve attempts. They gave me antibiotics and called in an infectious disease doctor because of recent cases of flesh‑eating bacteria.
By Sunday, July 4th, the swelling was almost gone, and the doctor released me. And here’s the beautiful part: July 4th is Independence Day — and our youngest grandson officially started walking that same day. A double celebration of freedom and life.
July 2016 — Another Attack
On Tuesday, 7/19/16, the day after I posted “Our battle,” I woke up with a cutting pain in my left shoulder blade that wrapped into my chest around my heart. I couldn’t tell if it was a heart attack, so my wife took me to the ER again.
They kept me overnight, ran tests, and did an ultrasound of my heart. With my family history — my father dying of a massive heart attack at 65 and my mother having heart problems — it was concerning. The cardiologist came in the next day and said it was a pinched nerve. I was released.
Other Attacks
There was another time I was working on a post when a small tire I was airing up exploded. My hand was right there, and my face was close — but I was not seriously hurt.
I could tell many more stories. But here is the truth I have learned through all of it:
I can trust Father God completely to bring me through safely.
Satan is powerful, and if you are doing Father God’s work, you will experience his power. But remember this:
No one — not even Satan — is more powerful than Father. And He is a loving God.
Scriptures
Jeremiah 9:24
“No, those who boast should boast in this: that they understand and know me.
I am the Lord who acts with kindness, justice, and righteousness in the world,
and I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.
Proverbs 14:27–35
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning people away from deathtraps.
28 A king’s glory is a large population, but a dwindling people is a ruler’s ruin.
29 Patience leads to abundant understanding, but impatience leads to stupid mistakes.
30 A peaceful mind gives life to the body, but jealousy rots the bones.
31 Those who exploit the powerless anger their maker, while those who are kind to the poor honor God.
32 The wicked are thrown down by their own evil, but the righteous find refuge even in death.
33 Wisdom resides in an understanding heart, but it’s not known in fools.
34 Righteousness dignifies a nation, but sin disgraces a people.
35 The king favors an insightful servant, but is furious at a shameful one.
