Building a Peaceful, Self‑Sufficient World

Reflecting on community, compassion, and the ways we can live more peacefully under Yeshua’s guidance.

I’ve been thinking deeply about the homeless, the poor, and those living on the edge of survival. Many people prosper for a time, only to be devastated by disasters — wars, fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, and cyclones. In a moment, everything can change.

Consider an ant colony or a beehive. Every member plays a part, and the whole thrives because each one contributes. Humanity could learn much from that kind of unity.

Our basic needs are simple: food, clean water, and shelter from the elements. Yet we’ve built systems that make even these essentials difficult to secure. What if we shifted our focus from money to Yeshua (Jesus)? The Quakers teach that there is God within each of us — we need only listen and act upon His guidance. When Yeshua is the Head and we see ourselves as parts of one Body, peace becomes possible.

Communities could function like organs in the body — each with its own purpose, yet all working together. Homes could be smaller but adequate. Shared buildings could host learning, fellowship, meals, and work. Food could be grown locally, water purified within the community, and waste handled responsibly. With less packaging and transport, we’d have fresher food, cleaner air, and healthier lives.

Transitioning to self‑sufficient communities will take time. Meanwhile, we must clean up the waste we’ve created. Technologies like plasma and laser furnaces may help by burning waste at extremely high temperatures, minimizing pollution. We need to share such knowledge freely among nations — if something can help the world, it should be shared.

Renewable energy is promising, but not perfect. Solar and wind power depend on weather, and old solar panels may pose disposal challenges. Oil and gas are not the answer either. Materials like graphene, kinetic energy systems, and activated charcoal offer exciting possibilities. Imagine if our young people devoted their creativity to developing technologies that heal the planet — the progress would be extraordinary.

We cannot wait for world leaders to act. Too many are blinded by wealth and power. Over 11,000 scientists have declared that climate change is an emergency. It’s up to us — the people — to stop fighting and come together under Yeshua, our King and Leader.

When we live as one Body in Yeshua, guided by love and purpose, peace will no longer be a dream — it will be our way of life.
