Exposing Some Light

Sometimes the only way to understand God’s plan is to look at creation itself — the water, the fire, the body, the Spirit — and notice how everything He made points back to Him. These are some of the pieces of light I’ve been seeing.

Exposing Some Light

I’ve been doing a lot of research lately — online and through other sources — trying to understand what we now know about ourselves and creation, and whether these discoveries help us understand Scripture more clearly. For me, it feels like pieces of God’s plan are starting to fit together. I believe God intends to save all His creation, including humanity. If God has the power to create everything, He certainly has the power to restore or destroy it. But I believe His plan is restoration.

I want to touch on a few basics to shed some light on these “puzzle pieces.”

The Human Beginning

A baby begins when the father’s sperm joins with the mother’s egg. Each contributes 50% of the DNA — the full blueprint for the child. DNA carries the good and the bad: strengths, weaknesses, diseases, and even personality traits. Studies suggest personality is about 70% inherited and 30% shaped by environment.

Scripture tells us something else was inherited:

Romans 5:12 (NASB)
“Through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men.”

Death here is not just physical — it is the separation of body and spirit.

Romans 5:19 (NASB)
“For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.”

At just the right time, Jesus entered the world. He had no human father — His Father was God (Matthew 1:18). Because of this, He did not inherit the full sin nature we carry. He was tempted as we are, yet remained obedient. He is the One able to take our place.

Blood, Water, and the Spirit

The formation of a baby is astonishing. After conception, cells divide and somehow “know” what they will become — heart, lungs, kidneys, eyes, ears, and so on. The heart begins beating around week 6. The baby’s blood is created within the baby; it does not come from the mother. The circulatory systems are separate.

Blood is more than 90% water.

In my earlier post “Living Water,” I mentioned Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work with water. His findings suggest that water responds to intention, emotion, and environment in ways we don’t fully understand. I believe this points to the Holy Spirit.

Blood — mostly water — cleanses the body of impurities. Water cleanses our bodies externally. And Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit in the same way:

John 7:37–39 (NASB)
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink… From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.”

Revelation also speaks of water:

Revelation 22:1 (NASB)
“A river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”

Revelation 22:14 (NASB)
“Blessed are those who wash their robes…”

Water cleanses. The Spirit cleanses even more deeply.

And how do we receive the Spirit? The same way we receive water — we must come, take, and drink.

Revelation 22:17 (NASB)
“Let the one who is thirsty come… take the water of life without cost.”

Fire — Not What We Think

Fire is often associated with hell, but Scripture uses fire in many ways. Fire requires the right conditions: fuel, oxygen, and an external ignition source. Fire doesn’t start just because fuel and oxygen are present — something must ignite it. And once ignited, fire continues until the fuel is gone or oxygen is removed.

Now consider this:

Luke 3:16 (NASB)
“He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Fire in Scripture is often purifying, not destroying.

When Israel built the Tabernacle, the altar fire was started by God Himself (Leviticus 9:24). They were commanded never to let that fire go out (Leviticus 6:12–13).

Jesus also spoke of fire:

Matthew 3:12 (NASB)
“He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Chaff is the useless outer casing of wheat — the part with no value. It is separated from the good grain.

Many Christians interpret “chaff” as referring to entire people — the wicked. But I believe it refers to the worthless parts within us: false beliefs, corruption, lies, and everything that cannot enter the Kingdom.

If a person’s belief system is deeply corrupted, there may not be much left — which is why I emphasized the healing leaves of the Tree of Life (Revelation 22:2) in my post “God Will Be All in All.”

God’s fire purifies. God’s water cleanses. God’s Spirit restores.

In the end, light reveals what has always been there — God’s presence woven through creation, water, fire, and spirit. As we open ourselves to that light, the pieces begin to fit, and we see that His purpose has always been restoration, not destruction. May His Spirit continue to expose truth and bring healing to every part of us.
